Atelier Petz are a design, sculpting, and fabrication operative based in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Our practice specialises in three-dimensional art and design with work ranging from sculpture, pattern, and mould making, prop making, furniture design and public art.

Richard Petz (1968) grew up in the small town of Grein, Austria, and studied traditional wood and stone sculpture in Hallein near Salzburg.
From 1987 – 1997 Richard worked on a number of international projects from antique statues in the Alto Adige region of Italy, to architectural applications, guilding, and engraving in the UK. In 1997 Richard went freelance, selling personal and commissioned pieces.


In 1995, Richard's eldest son Sam was born. Sam grew up helping his father in the workshop and went on to study for a degree in furniture design at Sheffield Hallam University.  Throughout his education, Sam worked as a public artist and has since exhibited in Milan, London, and Manchester.
In 2019 they started Atelier Petz.
